LYDACO MUSIC & BOOKING

Home

Lydaco Music sprang from my life-long passion for music, appreciation for the craft of songwriting and a strong desire to make a positive difference in the world through music and art.  It is my belief that bringing neighbors, friends and families together around shared musical experiences in intimate settings are opportunities for us to "build community."

I work to support outstanding professional singer-songwriters/indie performing and recording artists from Austin, Nashville, and other cities from coast to coast, as they bring their songs, music and stories to local communities. House concerts are a preferred method for artists to connect with their audiences. I facilitate this connection, by providing artists with house concert booking services. I have successfully booked 40+ private house concerts in the past 6 years.

My focus has also been on "expanding listening room venues" by cultivating and helping those interested in creating new house concert series. In the past 3 years, I successfully helped establish 3 new house concert series in Columbia, Missouri and encouraged others who did not start a formal series, but who host a house concert from time to time. I very much enjoy these partnerships, as I often provide the booking service and linkage between artists and concert series hosts, and help fill seats as needed.

A past project which did not garner the community support (and attendance) in Columbia that I had hoped it would, was "Lydaco Concert Series." This was a local, public listening room show I offered from October 2013-June 2015 and through it presented 15 concerts in collaboration with touring artists that came and played for us, Unity of Columbia who rented their space to me, local hotels that provided complimentary sleeping rooms for the artists and committed volunteers who helped me promote, set up, clean up and work the door!  You can view videos from these most excellent shows on youtube here.

As part of my efforts from 2011-2014 to establish and facilitate the first formal, Mid-Missouri Songwriting Circle in mid-Missouri, and create an online Mid-MO Songwriters facebook group, I hosted several songwriting workshops through Lydaco Music for local area songwriters. The workshops were well attended and helped foster collaboration and songwriter development, as they were taught by professional songwriters/music business professionals, including Melissa Greener, Buddy Mondlock and Dave Isaacs from Nashville and Owen Temple from Austin.
